Present & Future Plans

In recent years our showing has had to be curtailed as our dog-sitter (Neil’s mother) is not in quite such good health, nevertheless we have achieved some nice results.

We were very proud when Jehzara Maria’s litter of 4 puppies by Lusaki Farah-Falan JW all became Champions, 4 UK Champions in one litter is a record for Salukis and possibly a unique achievement for such a small litter. Apart from gaining their titles they are all really lovely to live with.
We had planned to breed from Taamunah but having her on a preparation to prevent her seasons; to make life ‘easier’ meant that she didn’t have a season for nearly 3 years then being considered too old for a first litter by the Kennel Club. A big disappointment for us.

Tasmayah was the only one of the sisters to be bred from producing a litter of 6 puppies in 2003 by Ch Timaru Valkyrie of Jazirat an American import for Liz Metcalfe and Martin Green. This litter has already produced 3 CC and rcc winners in the UK and CACIB,CAC winners on the continent.

Jaida Maria is now in her 12th year; she is in very good health and like all our Salukis over the years remains free of any heart problems or other serious disorders. We had planned to outcross Jaida, in order to come back in line at a later date, but she had other ideas and had an unplanned litter of 5 very robust puppies by her nephew Tabari-Zahfiq born in the millennium. This was to be her only litter as we breed very few puppies, not being very good at parting with them!

We kept Rekhmarah and Rakiizah and Rithiana came home to us when her owners dog refused to accept her. Amy was very apprehensive of other dogs at first, but now lives happily with her sisters, we have shown her a few times and she has been placed well at Championship Shows but she really prefers to be at home. Ranee went to live with Anne McIntosh (Cottonore) and Rhazyan the only boy to Ernest Tebbs of the famous Almanza Kennel. All our R litter had lovely natures.

Altaya Ranee of Cottonore had a lovely litter of 7 puppies in May 2004 sired by Jazirat Zaredon of Cottonore ( Ch Timaru Valkyrie of Jazirat ex Jazirat Shazaara) and from this litter ‘Hannah’ Cottonore Savannah at Altaya came to live with us. Hannah is very beautiful with a will of her own in the show ring at times. She has won quite a few first prizes in puppy and junior classes to date, all the litter have very outgoing and gentle temperaments.
